Accounting fees in Switzerland
Your accounting price in five steps
Five short steps: receipts, revenue, VAT, payroll and anything else that applies. From these, we calculate your indicative accounting fees in Switzerland, using the same grid we use for our quotes. Non-binding and without registration.

Receipts
How many receipts do you have per month?
This means supplier invoices, purchase receipts and expense receipts. A rough count is enough; for the indicative price, the order of magnitude will do.
- Countreceipts that go through your credit card statement as well.
- Do not countprivate expenses that you paid with the business card, or the invoices you send to your customers. We ask about those in the next step.
Your details stay stored in this browser. You can stop at any time and continue later. We see none of it until you request the quote.
Context
The range you can expect
Before you calculate, four figures for orientation. They do not answer the question conclusively, because businesses differ too much for that. But they show the order of magnitude.
- per month
- from CHF290
- Entry into the accounting subscription, posted quarterly, including the annual accounts, tax return and software licence.
- per hour
- CHF120–180
- When we work by the hour instead of on a subscription: from clerical work to qualified accounting work.
- Annual accounts
- from CHF2,950
- If you do your own bookkeeping and only hand over the year-end closing.
- VAT threshold
- CHF100,000
- From this annual turnover, a business becomes liable for VAT.
All amounts exclude VAT. What an accountant costs in Switzerland overall depends mainly on the volume of receipts and the number of salary certificates. That is why the calculator above asks about these first. It also asks about your annual revenue, which helps us gauge the size of your business and the workload correctly.
These four factors countVolume of receipts, employees, scope of services and complexity.
Volume of receipts
How many supplier invoices, purchase receipts and expense receipts you have each month. The single most important factor, and the one most people underestimate, because credit card statements and expenses count too.
Employees
What counts is the number of salary certificates (Lohnausweise), not the headcount on a given date. Four permanent employees and three summer temps make seven. Hourly pay, tax at source (Quellensteuer) and a collective labour agreement (GAV) each add a surcharge.
Scope of services
Whether we only post the accounts or also record supplier invoices, prepare payment runs, monitor receivables and provide quarterly reports.
Complexity
Several companies, foreign currencies, partial payments, a till system or industry software with an interface noticeably increase the workload.
By the hour or on a subscription? Both have their place, and we offer both. The difference is not the price, but who bears the risk when a month means more work than expected.
How it is invoiced
By the hour
By the hours actually worked, monthly or quarterly.
Accounting subscription
A fixed amount per month, agreed in advance.
What you know beforehand
By the hour
The hourly rate. The invoice shows how many hours it comes to.
Accounting subscription
The annual amount, to the franc.
When a month means more work
By the hour
The invoice goes up. Absences for holidays, queries and corrections are charged too.
Accounting subscription
The amount stays the same. We do not charge extra for months that run higher.
Queries and advice
By the hour
Are recorded and charged. Anyone who wants to save costs calls less often.
Accounting subscription
Are included, as long as they concern the ongoing bookkeeping. You should call before something is posted, not afterwards. A one-off special case is quoted separately.
Who bears the risk
By the hour
You do. If there is more to do than expected, you pay more.
Accounting subscription
We do. If we have misjudged it, that is our problem until the next agreement.
When it makes sense
By the hour
For one-off work, catching up on previous years and wherever we do not yet know the scope.
Accounting subscription
For ongoing support with a known scope, which is the normal case.
What drives the price upSix things that noticeably increase the workload. We write them down before you call, so there are no surprises later, and you can eliminate some of them yourself.
Receipts that arrive late
If documents only arrive weeks later, what could have been handled once is handled twice, and the VAT deadline draws closer.
Private items on the business account
Every private payment made through the company has to be separated and removed again at the year-end closing. That is quiet extra work every month.
Many very small receipts
Twenty fuel receipts of fifty francs each mean more work than one supplier invoice for ten thousand.
Foreign currencies and partial payments
Exchange differences and part-paid invoices need their own entries and a clean reconciliation at the end of the year.
Catching up on previous years
Whatever needs to be caught up from the time before us, we quote once and separately. Otherwise you would never know what catching up costs and what normal operations cost.
Special cases without a standard
Restructurings, tax audits, reporting for a bank or an investor: plannable, but not part of the monthly amount.
Conversely, if you deliver receipts promptly, keep private and business matters cleanly apart and call briefly about special cases, you will stay in the lower tier for good. This is not a marketing line, but the reason why two businesses of the same size cost different amounts.

Your team
Who stands behind the price
We state the binding price in the quote once we have looked at your situation in the initial meeting. With us, a team does the work: receipts, payroll, VAT, payments, closing and tax return, with cover and a licensed audit expert in house.

Questions and answers
Frequently asked questions
Is the calculated price binding?
No, it is a guide. We state the binding price in the quote once we have looked at your situation in the initial meeting. In our experience, however, the estimate comes close to it.
What counts as a receipt?
Every business transaction on the expense side that has to be posted: supplier invoices, purchase receipts, expenses, bank transactions with their own allocation. A collective entry for twenty similar items counts as one item. The calculator asks about the invoices you send to your customers separately; they make no difference to the price.
Are the annual accounts and the tax return included?
Yes, in every subscription. At the end of the year, you do not pay extra for the annual financial statements under the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) or for the tax return of your GmbH or AG.
What if we fall in between?
Then we talk about it. The tiers are a guide, not a straitjacket. We tailor the subscription to your actual scope.
What does an accountant cost per hour?
With us, CHF 120 for clerical work, CHF 180 for accountant work (Treuhandarbeiten) and CHF 250 for the licensed audit expert, each excluding VAT. However, we only work by the hour where we do not know the scope. Ongoing engagements run on a subscription.
What does bookkeeping for a GmbH cost per year?
It depends mainly on the volume of receipts and on payroll, less on the industry. The calculator also asks about your revenue, because it shows us the size of the business. Our subscription starts at CHF 290 per month, posted quarterly, which is CHF 3,480 a year. Posted monthly, it starts at CHF 590, which is CHF 7,080 a year. This already includes the annual accounts, the tax return and the software licence. We will say it openly: if you only want the ongoing bookkeeping of a two-person business posted, you will find that for less. Our price is for an engagement in which you hand over the whole subject, including the closing, taxes and a contact person.
Is an accountant worth it compared with hiring someone?
A part-time position in accounting quickly costs more than an annual subscription once social security contributions are included. On top of that come onboarding, software, training and cover for holidays and illness. Hiring your own staff pays off when there is enough work for them in the long term and the person also takes on other tasks. Until then, outsourcing is as a rule less expensive and less risky.
Why does this cost more than accounting software?
Because we sell something different. Software helps you with the bookkeeping, but you still do it yourself. With us, a team does the work: receipts, payroll, VAT, payments, closing and tax return, with cover and a licensed audit expert in house. If you are looking for the lowest-priced provider, we are honestly not the right place. If you want it off your plate, we are.
How do I receive my indicative price?
As a PDF by email. It lists all items, the monthly and the annual total and what is included. The quote is non-binding, and the document is yours to keep. Until you request it, your details stay stored in your browser, and we see none of it. So you can stop at any time and continue later.
What happens in the initial meeting?
30 minutes, free of charge and without obligation. We look at your situation: volume of receipts, software, employees, what you do yourself today, and we tell you what we see. Even if the answer is that we are not the right place for you.
